ABOUT

A Twenty-six years career in advertising agencies. During all this time, I can say that I had the most amazing experiences and learnings. In the small agencies where I started, I learned to be multitasking and discovered the true passion I have for this profession until today. When I became a creative director, I learned to lead teams humanely, joyfully and always committed to people development. No wonder many of the people I've led today are key executives at major agencies in Brazil and abroad. Working with so many national and international brands, I learned about the importance of proximity, trust and commitment. Both with creative excellence and results. After the birth of my first child, I became an activist for the cause of Trisomy 21, also known as Down Syndrome, and used social media to talk about inclusion. A lot. As a result, I became a columnist for Parents Magazine (Pais & Filhos in Brazil) and was invited to give several lectures, including a Ted Talk for over 6,000 people. Today, as an experienced professional, I’m still learning. So I can become more and more innovative for my clients, more inspiring for my team and more relevant to the agency where I work.

Hello,

My name is Ana Castelo Branco and I discovered very early in my life what I wanted to do for a living: advertising. There’s no doubt that it was inspired by my favorite TV Show, Bewitched, where James had his campaigns spoiled by Endora, his mother-in-law. So, I got my first job at an agency at the age of 17. Since then, I worked at W/Brasil, Fischer América and Africa, where I became a creative director.

In 2012, I got promoted from a director at agencies to  a director of two great kids: Mateus and Helena. Mateus, in addition to all surprises that all first kids bring, also brought the Trisomy 21 surprise (aka down syndrome). Since then, I became an activist for the cause writing for several magazines, websites and giving lectures, such as the TED which you can watch here.

After a few years away from advertising industry and in order to focus on my children, I came back in 2016 as Creative Director of DM9DDB for Johnson & Johnson and, two years later, was invited to be part of the W/McCANN team. Today, I begin a new chapter as Creative Director at VMLY & R. My other passions are cooking and reading.
